The four teams competing for the inaugural Continental Athletic Conference volleyball championship tournament, being conducted November 12-13 at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri have been selected.
Tournament host Cottey joins Florida College, Florida National University and Lincoln Christian University (Illinois) in competing for postseason hardware and opportunities to represent the conference in the NAIA national tournament.
Teams will open the tournament with pool play matches on Friday, November 12, to determine seeding for the next day's matches. Two semifinal matches are set for Saturday, November 13, with the No. 1 seed playing the No. 4 seed. Meanwhile, the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will square off in the other semifinal.
The championship match will be later Saturday, November 13. Those two teams will earn the CAC's automatic bids to the NAIA tournament.
Cottey won the 2020-21 Association of Independent Institutions tournament (formerly the A.I.I.) during the spring of 2021. Lincoln Christian reached the championship match of that tournament and could be the most experienced team in the field, making six straight postseason trips. Florida College and Florida National will be making their postseason debuts as first-year CAC members.
