Kyleigh Sigears joined the Comets esports team as a student in August 2023 as a Sophomore transfer student. Having experience in both Overwatch and Streaming, she quickly excelled as a leader on the team. Joining organizations on campus such as the Association of Student Athletes and Leadership Launch, she showed a drive and passion for improving the esports program early on. Quickly she took on the captain role and in-game leader position for the Comet's Overwatch team.
Throughout her times competing as a student, Kyleigh has gained several team-specific and athletic honors. In both her Sophomore & Junior year, earning the honor of Scholar-Athlete by maintaining a 3.5+ cumulative GPA, and in her Junior year being recognized as the Most Valuable Player for the team and earning the Comet Leadership award for athletics. Lastly, in her Senior year, by team vote she earned the Golden Headset Award as well as the honor of being inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma.
In her final semester, while student-teaching , Kyleigh continued her leading prowess as the esports coach whilst competing in both Valorant & Overwatch. Leading both teams into playoffs for their seasons, she accepted the full-time position following her graduation in May 2026. Now having a Bachelor of Science in Business Education, she hopes to continue into higher education while platforming one of the few all-women's collegiate esports teams in the nation.
