St. Louis, Mo. – Senior Lacey Cruz of Cottey (Mo.) has been selected as the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.  Cruz was selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performances from Feb 27 through March 5 and chosen through a vote of Sports Information Directors from around the AMC.

Cruz was outstanding on the week with 2 wins posting a .97 ERA in 4 appearances with 21.2 innings pitched.  Cruz had 32 strikeouts with only 5 walks on the week.  In her final win of the week Cruz pitched a full game shutout against DII opponent University of Minnesota-Crookston posting 16 strikeouts in the game.
