The Cottey College Softball team is hitting the road for the first few weeks of their 2024 season.

They do so, with close to a dozen Seniors on the roster. This senior class has made the NAIA National tournament each year eligible, so their experience runs deep. The Comets have multiple returning All-Americans; including the returning American Midwest Conference Player of the Year in catcher Lauren Johnson. Aryana Palencia also boasts All-American honors, while mutiple Comets have All-Conference accolades. The Comets do have some new blood in the pitching circle, as AMC Pitcher of the Year Lacey Cruz gradauted. The Comets have multiple arms who will take the pitching load this season, including Amelia Gassman and Abigail McPherson.

The Comets take on LSU-Alexandria on Thursday February 8th in a doubleheader, with game times at 3 and 5pm. They will then roll into the LSU-A Tournament, which is sure to be full of top tier contenders.
