Comets Split Double Header at Kansas Wesleyan

The Cottey Comets hit the road once again, this time at Kansas Wesleyan for a doubleheader. The Comets took the opener 6-4, while falling 9-3 in Game 2. Alyssa Montoya took the circle in Game 1, and delivered a complete game. Aryana Palencia and Liz Thomas each homered to pace the offense for the Comets. Jenna Wilson went 2-3 to keep the line moving. 5 different Comets scored runs as the Comets kept the Coyotes at bay.

Game 2 went the way of Kansas Wesleyan. It was Cottey's lead 3-2 after the first inning, but Kansas Wesleyan would strike again and the Comets would be kept off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game. Aryana Palencia and Elizabeth Thomas would once again be the leaders on offense, each hitting a double. Lore Arrellano brought in an RBI as well. Amelia Gassman, Abigail McPherson, and Braylen Ford each took pitching duties in Game 2. 

The Comets have a week off before returning to action on the road at MidAmerica Nazarene for a road doubleheader on February 21st.
