The Cottey College Comets basketball team will play the Stephens College Stars on January 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Nevada, Missouri.  

The Comets (6-7) are looking for their first win of the new year, coming off a loss to conference opponent Williams Baptist 70-53 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on January 5, 2023.     

The Comets were led in that game by Lauren Jones with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist and Claudia Hadlock with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.  Ndeye Ndiaye also went double digits for the Comets with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.   Sara Montesdeoca led the Comets on the boards with 10 rebounds.  

The Stars (9-3) Williams Baptist is coming off a conference loss of their own against Missouri Baptist University 70-79.   The Stars had four in double digits in that game: Zaraya March with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.  Three Stars scored 14 points, Marveen Ross, Alayasia Douglas, and Arthel Massaquoi.
