Comets Wrap 2024-25 Season at AMC Championship

The 2024-25 spring Golf season came to a close this week for the Cottey Comets squad. The team would finish 7th at the American Midwest Conference Championships, held at Cooper's Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne, Arkansas.

Freshman Nora Schuh would lead the team in 2-day scores, taking home 24th place. Fellow freshman Savanah Topping would set a collegiate personal record on day 2, breaking into the 90's for the first time in her Cottey career. Due to a rash of injuries, the Comets had to mix and match lineups on their way to the 7th place finish. Senior Dally Coulter didn't end up competing, but took on a valuable leadership role, mentoring the young Comets squad at the tournament. The Comets had two first time participants, with Senior Ryleigh Ludiker making her Comets Golf debut on day one, while also receiving the Champions of Character award from the conference. Freshman Megan McNeil stepped in and competed both days, taking home 32nd place. Sophomore Riley Severance was able to compete on Day 2, shooting the low score on the day for Cottey, including a great birdie on the Par-4 11th hole.

Columbia College were the team champions of the event, with Columbia's Ellie Soderholm taking the medalist honors.
