The Comets closed out the AMC Outdoor Championships with a surge of podium finishes and relay dominance, led by standout senior Madalenn Fee, who captured three event titles and anchored the winning 4x400 relay.
Middle-Distance Sweep
Fee led a Cottey sweep in the 800 meters, winning in 2:21.45, followed by Kate Soukup (2nd, 2:23.63) and Joliette Johnson (3rd, 2:26.89). She doubled back to take the 1500 meters in 4:49.52, with Soukup again close behind in 4:52.19. Freshman Elizabeth Dirickson added a solid 10th-place finish.
Long-Distance Strength
Senior Avery Morris continued her strong season, finishing 2nd in the 10,000 meters (42:11.63) and 3rd in the 5000 meters (20:46.21). Kyndal Soukup added a 5th-place finish in the 5000 (21:20.48) and claimed victory in the 3000m steeplechase (13:45.85), while freshman Arabelle McDonald contributed a point with her 6th-place finish.
Sprint and Relay Highlights
In the 400 meters, senior Hannah Hayduk placed 3rd (1:01.95) and sophomore Jessie Mick took 5th (1:03.41). Fee added another win in the 400 hurdles (1:07.76) before teaming with Mick, Johnson, and Hayduk to capture the 4x400 relay title in 4:11.73. The 4x800 relay of Dirickson, McDonald, Johnson, and Soukup finished 2nd (11:12.46) to round out a strong team showing.
Field Event Efforts
Fee also contributed in the long jump, placing 6th (4.87m). Junior Heather Hayduk competed across three throws — shot put (7.60m), discus (19.89m), and javelin (20.63m) — showing versatility and grit in the field.
