Nevada, MO.-The Cottey College Flag Football Program is off to their best start in their three year history. The Comets who are coming off a thrilling win against Fort Scott, would face their first conference opponent of the season the Bethel College Thrashers.
The Comets would get started early as they would drive the length of the field to score an opening touchdown on a 15 yard pass by Amya Corulla to Daniella Goodridge. Cottey College would fail on the 3pt conversion, but would take a 6-0 lead into the second quarter.
After a turnover on downs, Amya Corulla would find Daniella Goodridge again in the back of the end zone on a 17 yard pass. The Comets would convert the 1pt conversion to take a 13-0 lead into halftime.
After forcing a turnover on downs, the Comets scored once again on a 4 yard pass to Kenzie Murdoch. This was Murdoch's first touchdown of her college career. Cottey would keep the momentum on their side, forcing the Thrashers to punt on their next possession. This would lead to Amya Corulla connecting with Daniella Goodridge for the third time on a 45 yard pass for a touchdown and connecting again on a 1pt conversion to make the lead 26-0 heading into the final frame.
The Comets would add one more touchdown in the fourth quarter on a pass to Shamese Lee. The 1pt conversion would make the final score of the game 33-0.
